Environmental Design | Wayfinding

The modern urban transit system is a vital lifeline for millions, but is inaccessible to a significant portion of the population— those with disabilities.

INTRODUCTION

Despite enhancements in public transit infrastructure, wayfinding systems often fail to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Current transit maps and navigation tools are visual and text heavy, creating barriers for people with visual impairments, hearing impairments, or cognitive disabilities.

CHALLENGE

Design an innovative, multi-sensory public transit map that caters to the needs of individuals with visual, auditory, or cognitive disabilities. By integrating universal design principles and using advanced technology, to develop a navigation solution that promotes independence, inclusivity, and ease of use for all transit users.
