INTRODUCTION

This study examines six distinct uppercase “A” letterforms across different typefaces: Univers Bold, Helvetica Neue Bold, Avenir Next Bold, Neue Haas Bold, Graphik Semibold, and Atlas Bold. The analysis focuses on key characteristics such as cap height, aperture, serif presence, and descender design. Additionally, a broader exploration includes multiple studies of both uppercase letterforms—A, B, C, G, K, Q, and R—and lowercase letterforms—a, o, and r—providing a comprehensive comparison of their unique features.
